Hi, I’m Eduardo
Vasquez
I am a Professional Project Manager and Independent Game Developer
INTRODUCTION
I am a Boston-based project manager in consulting, with experience on complex software-based projects, agile methodologies, and cross-team collaboration. I am also a self-published independent game developer, having published two demos developed in Unity. I recently earned a professional certification in game design from MIT xPRO and a completed Game Production course with ELVTR. I also had the opportunity to work in Functionality and Localization QA for SEGA in the UK. Bilingual in English and Spanish, I bring unique perspective, structure, and communication to my projects.

ABOUT ME
MY STORY
Originally from Chile, I’ve had the opportunity to live across multiple countries - like Spain, the UK, and the US - but one thing has remained constant: my passion for games!
As a management consultant for over 13 years, I’ve worked across a wide range of industries working on delivering complex transformational projects, my focus over the last 7 years being on technology-enabled transformations: delivering software solutions based on agile methodologies.
My experience in gaming includes having worked at SEGA of Europe as a Funtionality and Localisation tester in London, where I contributed to games like Aliens vs. Predator, Sonic & Sega ALL-Stars Racing, and Napoleon: Total War. I have recently earned a Professional Certification in Game Design from MIT xPRO, and have developed and published my own games using Unity.
WHY GAME PRODUCTION?
Having spent most of my career working in project management as a management consultant, I have honed my skills in driving complex projects, facilitating the coordination across multi-disciplinary teams, managing conflicting priorities, and providing solid leadership for my teams, which are key skills for a successful producer. My interest in games comes from having the opportunity of working in challenging projects that are able to bring happiness and enjoyment to players.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Many of my projects have been opportunities to develop my project management skills: helping multinational corporations integrate multi-year roadmaps for their software implementations, developing systems strategies to modernize the back-end of their systems infrastructure, and helping my client understand the change impacts associated with the implementation of new sofwtare solutions on the day-to-day of their users to ensure a smooth transition and adoption of their new systems.
I’ve also had the opportunity to lead teams spanning multiple countries and time zones, frequently working with teams across Europe, India, and Latin America. This has given me an appreciation for differnt cultures and working styles, as well as balancing work and life across varying timezones.
GAME PREFERENCES
When it comes to my spare time, I like to think I don’t have one set genre to play - one day you can find me playing Super Mario Wonder and the next I will be killing gods in God of War 3. I do tend to gravitate towards couch co-op games when playing with others, with Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime and Mario Party being some of my favorites. I don’t usually play competitive online games due to my current schedule, so single player games are my preference these days - I am VERY excited for the Elden Ring DLC - Shadow of the Erdtree!
Events I’ve participated in
A key component of development is playtesting, so I take every opportunity I can to take my games on the road and share it with players and other devs. Here are some highlights from events I’ve been participating in around Boston and at GDC 2024!
Talking about games
The night before POROTO launched, I did a 3-hour interview with Dr Karam, a gaming academic and streamer from Colombia. We talked about the industry, POROTO, and a bunch of other things! (NOTE: Spanish only).
While visiting Chile last time, I had the chance to participate in the podcast from a great friend of mind, Beto Astorga. You can watch the whole episode below! (NOTE: Spanish only).
QUESTIONS?
Whether you’re curious about my current projects, my past experience, or just wanted to talk about games, I am here to answer any questions.
